In Re: Administrative Orders of the Supreme Court of Mississippi; Disposition: This Court, by order filed on August 1, 2003, granted the request of Justice Oliver E. Diaz, Jr., for a leave of absence, with pay, until such time as the charges against him pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi had been resolved. Those charges have now been resolved in Justice Diaz's favor by two separate judgments of acquittal, and Justice Diaz has requested that his leave of absence be terminated. The leave of absence, with pay, previously granted by this Court to Justice Oliver E. Diaz, Jr., is terminated and Justice Diaz shall resume his judicial duties effective immediately. Diaz, J., not participating. Administrative Order entered May 12, 2006.

In Re: Administrative Orders of the Supreme Court of Mississippi; Disposition: On the Court's own motion and from the information provided, the Court determines that the administration of justice will be better served by the adjustments in salary ranges and job descriptions for Mississippi Administrative Office of Courts' (AOC) trial court support staff employees, which consists of the positions of Court Administrator, Deputy Court Administrator, Assistant Court Administrator, Staff Attorney, Law Clerk III, Law Clerk II, Law Clerk I, Legal Research Assistant (Paralegal), Law Student Research Assistant, Secretary III, Secretary II, and Secretary I, and the creation of the position of Staff Attorney Senior. AOC shall adjust the job descriptions and salary ranges as set out in the materials presented and attached as "Attachment A" to the order. The AOC shall implement the proposed job description and salary range for the position of an AOC Staff Attorney Senior as set out in the materials presented and attached as "Attachment A" to the order. The AOC shall distribute the new job descriptions and salary ranges to all Chancery and Circuit Court Judges in the state as soon as practicable after the issuance of this order. Administrative Order entered.

In Re: Emergency Preparedness Planning; Disposition: In accordance with the guidelines adopted by this Court by order entered April 20, 2006, the Chief Emergency Coordinating Officer designates the following Justices to serve as the District Emergency Coordinating Officers: District 1, the Central District shall be Justice James E. Graves, Jr.; District 2, the Southern District shall be Justice Michael K. Randolph; and District 3, the Northern District shall be Justice George C. Carlson, Jr. Further, Presiding Justice William L. Waller, Jr., shall serve as the alternate Chief Emergency Coordinating Officer when the Chief Emergency Coordinating Officer is not available. The designations stated in this order are hereby in effect until further order. Administrative Order entered.
