Justice Carlson to speak at Ole Miss Insurance Symposium

Mississippi Supreme Court Justice George C. Carlson Jr. will speak at an insurance symposium at the University of Mississippi on Thursday, March 10.

Justice Carlson’s presentation, “Trends in Insurance Law and the Legal System,” will begin at 8:45 a.m. Thursday in the auditorium of the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts.

The two-day Ole Miss Insurance Symposium, which begins Wednesday, March 9, in Oxford, is presented by the University of Mississippi School of Business Administration.

Justice Carlson, of Batesville, was appointed to the Supreme Court by former Gov. Ronnie Musgrove on Oct. 29, 2001, and elected to a full term in November 2004. He previously served for 19 years as a trial judge for the 17th Circuit District of DeSoto, Panola, Tallahatchie, Tate, and Yalobusha counties.
