Investiture for Judge Jennifer Schloegel set for January 12

An investiture ceremony for Eighth District Chancery Judge Jennifer Schloegel will be held at 4 p.m. Jan. 12 in the Harrison County Court Courtroom on the second floor of the Harrison County Courthouse in Gulfport.

Harrison County Court Judge Margaret Alfonso will administer the oath. Judge Schloegel filled the chancery judgeship previously held by Judge Alfonso. Judge Alfonso, who served as a chancellor for the past 12 years, was elected to the position of Harrison County Court Judge.

State trial court judges serve four-year terms.

The Eighth Chancery District includes Harrison, Hancock and Stone counties.

Judge Schloegel, of Gulfport, has practiced law for 19 years in the areas of business law, estate planning, wills and probate matters. She was a member of the firm of Page, Mannino, Peresich & McDermott.

She earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and philosophy from Louisiana State University and a law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

She is a member of the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association, the Gulfport Business Club, the Harrison County Bar Association and the American Inns of Court.

She and her family are members of St. James Catholic Church.

She is married to Mark Schloegel. They have five children.
