The Supreme Court’s Rules Committee on the Legal Profession seeks comments from the bench, bar, and public on the Mississippi Bar’s Petition to Amend Certain Rules of the Mississippi Rules of Appellate Procedure and the Mississippi Rules of Professional Conduct in Order to Define the Practice of Law in Mississippi and Exceptions thereto and to Prohibit the Unauthorized Practice of Law in Mississippi. 

Comments must be filed with the Clerk of Appellate Courts at Post Office Box 249, Jackson, Mississippi 39205.  The filing deadline is Friday, January 6, 2017.

The Supreme Court’s Rules Committee on the Legal Profession is currently considering the Petition to Amend the Code of Judicial Conduct.  The Rules Committee seeks comments from the bench, bar, and public on the following proposed amendments to Canon 5F of the Code of Judicial Conduct available here

The Mississippi Bar’s Amended Petition to Amend Certain Rules of the Rules of Discipline for the Mississippi State Bar is currently under consideration by the Supreme Court’s Rules Committee on the Legal Profession.  The Rules Committee seeks comments from the bench, bar, and public on the portions of the petition that address Rules 12 – 13, and Rules 17 – 25 of the Rules of Discipline.  The proposed amendments currently under consideration by the Rules Committee are available in highlight and strikeout here, and in clean copy here.
