• Applicants must submit a signed, notarized copy of their full application, in addition to submitting an online application, and pay the requisite fee by the prescribed deadlines.
• Applicants that have lived outside of Mississippi for six (6) months or longer since their eighteenth (18th) birthday must submit, in addition to the Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions application, a NCBE Character & Fitness application and pay their requisite application fee.
• Per Rule III, Section 1, of the Rules Governing Admission to the MS Bar, all applications must be complete and include all required attachments at the time of filing.

The Mississippi Bar hosts a Bar Admissions ceremony in the spring and fall. (Note: The Mississippi Bar is a separate agency from the Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions and any questions regarding the Bar Admissions ceremony need to be directed to The Mississippi Bar.) All applications must be completed online. To file an application, your completed online application must be printed, signed, notarized, and submitted to the MBBA to be received in the MBBA office on or before the applicable filing deadline. Links to all applications, forms and the Rules Governing Admission to the MS Bar are listed under “Bar Admissions” on the left side of this webpage.

There is an additional $25.00 application fee for all applications. The $25.00 fee can be combined in the same payment with your application filing fee. (Please note that personal or business checks are not accepted.) Money orders or cashier‘s checks are to be made payable to the MS Board of Bar Admissions and must be submitted at the time you file your application.
LAPTOP TESTING is available for the MS Bar Examination. There is an additional fee for applicants who wish to use their laptop to type their answers to the Essays and Performance Test during the administration of the MS Bar Examination. This fee is payable directly to ExamSoft. The fee is currently $113.00, but may be subject to change. A notice with instructions will be sent to each applicant who completes and submits an Examination Application and Form 8-B Laptop User Release. Applicants will be provided with instructions on registration of their laptop, steps to download Examplify, and then take and upload a mock exam. Applicants who have not registered with Examplify and completed the Mock Exam within the deadline established will not be allowed to use their laptop computer for that examination and will be required to hand write their answers.
The MS Board of Bar Admissions does not refund any fees. Applicants whose application is, either voluntarily or involuntarily, dismissed will automatically forfeit all previously paid fees.

NCBE NUMBER - The NCBE Number was introduced in January 2012 as the unique identifier for an examinee's MBE score. The NCBE Number is required to register for the Mississippi Bar Examination and the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE).
