Justice Griffis appointed to Mississippi Judicial College Board of Governors January 21, 2026 Supreme Court Justice Kenny Griffis of Ridgeland was appointed on Jan. 14 to the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Judicial College. Justice Griffis will replace former Justice Robert P. Chamberlin of Hernando, who was recently confirmed as U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Mississippi. The Board of Governors guides the training curriculum for the Mississippi Judicial College. The Judicial College, a division of the University of Mississippi School of Law, provides continuing judicial education and training for about 1,400 judges and court personnel across the state, including Supreme Court justices; Court of Appeals judges; Chancery, Circuit, County, Justice and Municipal court judges; Youth Court judges and referees; court administrators, court clerks and court reporters. Justice Griffis regularly serves as an adjunct law professor at the University of Mississippi School of Law and Mississippi College School of Law. He is a frequent speaker for continuing judicial education and continuing legal education programs. Justice Griffis has served as an appellate judge for 23 years. He was appointed to the Supreme Court on Feb. 1, 2019, after serving for 16 years on the Mississippi Court of Appeals. He served as Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals. He is a native of Meridian. He earned accounting and law degrees from the University of Mississippi. #### |
