Application for Registration as a Law Student

NOTICE: As of August 1, 2019, all Registration as a Law Student applications must be completed and submitted online.

To file a Registration as a Law Student application, your completed online application must be printed, signed, notarized, and submitted to the MBBA, along with your NCBE Background Investigation application (if applicable) and requisite fees for each.

The application and filing fee are to be filed on or before October 1st, immediately following completion of two (2) semesters of law school, or the equivalent thereof. Any person who does not comply with the October 1st deadline shall be permitted to file a late law student application upon payment of a late registration fee; however, the completed application must be filed with the Board on or before March 1st preceding the February examination deadline, or on or before August 1st preceding the July examination filing deadline of which applicant proposes to sit.

Registration as a Law Student is not a requirement to sit for an exam. You may complete an exam application while attending law school when registration opens for the exam you anticipate taking.
